FreeIndex

Just found a new (free to advertisers) business index called FreeIndex http://www.freeindex.co.uk/.  There are a few of these things around, and I’m not sure how effective they are because so far, no referrals have ever come from them. If anyone has any experience of them actually producing leads, perhaps they have views on why/how?

Brave new year, brave new code!

Feeling inspired by the start of (yet another) new year, to try dipping my toes in some HTML 5 and CSS3.  Never happy unless I’m learning something new – I guess I must have a short attention span or something, but I really need to keep things fresh by having new challenges or I might as well roll over, toes in the air.

Expect to see some jazzy new effects over on Little Acorn Consulting!

CushyCMS Rocks!

Very excited about CushyCMS, a very tidy and easy to use CMS.  Just implemented it for the first time on a client’s site and am very pleased with the result, so far.  Will be interesting to see how they like it.

10:10

Ok, it’s official.  As of yesterday Little Acorn signed up to the 10:10 programme.  10:10 is all about reducing our carbon emissions this year by 10%.  So, we’ve turned down the heating two degrees (my fingers tell me it’s more) and took the tube into town today rather than the car.  This was helped by the tube actually running today, which it doesn’t always, on a Sunday, so thank you TFL.

I’m going to try to do a little bit every day to meet our target, although starting by turning the heating down in January’s not making things easier, I have to say.  It’s -1ºC outside at the mo’, apparently.  Still, I have a warm feeling inside.

The first blog is the hardest

Baby I know.

Not sure that blogging when I should be coding is the best way to go, but procrastination seems to be the name of the game today.
